Born on November 1965, Shahrukh Khan is the heartthrob and the number one actor in Bollywood. Apart from Indian fans and cinema, he has many fans following all over the world. The fact is that he has become one the wealthiest actor in Bollywood today.
Shahrukh Khan spent his initial five years in the city of Mangalore. But soon his family shifted to New Delhi where within few years his father had many business ventures including a restaurant though the family lived in a middle class rented an apartment for many years.
Shahrukh Khan had attended St.Columbia School in Delhi where he was brilliant at studies and good in sports like football and hockey. He showed his acting skills in his youth as he performed in many stage plays and received much praise as well. Though he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and later completed Master’s Degree in Mass Communications, he was much interested in the Theatre Action Group in Delhi. Here he studied under the theatre director named Barry John and with time was able to polish his skills.
Khan began his acting career by appearing in many television series during the latter half of 1980s era. His debut film was ‘Deewana’ which got released in the year 1992. Initially, he got recognized in those films where he got the role of a villain. These included ‘Daar’ in 1993, ‘Baazigar’ in 1993 and ‘Anjaan’ in 1994.
But soon Shahrukh Khan rose to fame by appearing in series of many romantic films respectively. These included ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ in 1995, ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’ in 1997, ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ in 1998 and the ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham in 2001. But ‘Devdas’ in the year 2002 cemented his place as the best and brilliant actor in the whole of Bollywood. Later, in recent years or so, he appeared in many good films like ‘Swades’, ‘Chak De India’ and ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ respectively.
Shahrukh Khan is married to Gauri and has two children. He has won many awards throughout his career whether Filmfare, Sony or IIFA. For his contributions towards film and acting, the Government of India awarded him with ‘Padma Shri’ Award. And the Government of France awarded him with ‘Legion d’honour’ and ‘Ordre des Arts des Lettres’ as well.
